About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Yet another Thames mooring

Here we go again! Our preferred mooring appeared to be full. Normally we would have stopped by 2ish but as it was such a nice day and as the forecast for Tuesday was for wet weather, we just kept going. It was gone 5 pm when we eventually stopped. The moorings were by the pub Ferry boatman. We had stopped and had a meal here on the way to Letchlade so we knew they were good. As they were full we had to "make do" and as usual it was a good few feet from the bank. Another mooring plank job!!
