About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

End of Thames Navigation

This is the round house. The winding hole is supposed to be able to turn a full length narrow boat but the sand banks on either side looked a bit scary. I'm glad we walked it to see if we should go any further on the boat. I think we will give it a miss this time. We can wind by the Riverside pub so I expect we will do that when we leave. Tomorrow we hire a car to take us to Kev and Christine's to celebrate our grandson Joshua's first birthday. Dennis and Margaret are looking after the woofits while we are away for the night. They will be spoiled rotten and will love every moment. I don't suppose we will get a look in when we get back.
