About Us
- Ian and Irene Jameison
- In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Joshua,s party
The hire car company picked us up outside Riverside pub at 10am. We had a lovely little Corsa and went merrily on our way. Our arrangement with Christine was to be at her house by 1 ish which was very possible as the distance was about 100 miles. What we hadnt bargined for was the traffic. It was a Saturday after all and we should have had no problems whatsoever. Wrong!!! As we drove along the M5 doing a steady 70 MPH ( Not going to admit to anything faster) when suddenly all the cars in front started to stop. We crept slowly along and then ground to a halt. That is where we stayed for over an hour. The worrying thing was three police cars, one fire engine and 2 ambulances went past us while we were stationary. All that was left was the air ambulance to arrive and then we would be stuck for hours. Luckily that didnt happen. When we did eventually get moving and past the accident, it involved a couple of cars and a caravan. I have no idea if there were any fatalities. I just hoped it hadnt. We arrived at Christine and Kevs house at about 3pm so were still in good time to go to the fun park and party for Joshuas birthday. The pictures of the party is on my other blog http://nbfreespirit2.blogspot.com
