About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Encounter with a Devil and a weird phenomenon in the night sky

OMG.....OMG....OMG

How will we ever top what we saw tonight! Not only did we get really close to the Tasmanian Devils, in fact they were also only about 6ft away, making sounds that would put the fear of God in anyone walking the bush at night. (click on the videos below to see what I mean) but also in the night sky, millions of stars and the milky way in all its glory. Whilst looking up a strange sight was seen. A long line of dead straight Stars?/ Aliens?/ Satellites? all travelling at the same speed and then one by one, disappearing at the same point in space. Weird or what! I had to check this out on my return and to find out what they were click here

Wednesday 26th,

Could anything beat what we saw last night? Well yes, on par with that an encounter with Wombats. We were invited back to Nature World this morning to get a look at three orphan baby Wombats. Paying just $30 for both of us to look around the wildlife centre, there was another Devil talk, this time with the youngsters and very informative talk on the rescue and eventually release back into the wild. What a day to go though, as the rain started around mid-morning and continued well into the afternoon. Plenty of the wet stuff in the North but none in the South where it is so desperately needed.

We did a trip to Tasmania several years ago, such an amazing place. And those devils, what a racket they make. Enjoy your trip, and do hope your motor home problems are over.

So far so good Jenny, A little small inside but that is because the bed is permanently made up. Loving Tasmania and the weather hasn't been as bad as we were told. Off looking for waterfalls today. Xx
