It was great fun. Acting like idiots with two left feet trying to do the Haka. 5000 people were needed to break the record but sadly for the organisers only 720 people turned up. So instead of the World record it was down graded to the Milton Keynes Haka record which will now become part of the 4 yearly Rugby festivities. To be part of the first attempt was brilliant and so glad we made the effort to get to the Fanzone.
So we registered and got a free T Shirt. After an hilarious 30 minute training session outside we gathered in the main marquee where the attempt was made. 5 minutes of continues Haka dancing, verification by an official confirming we had all taken part in the dance and then it was all over. We even got a medal to boot!. Loved every minute and hope to do it again in 4 years time. Posted a video of the training session and really hope it works as Ian was trying very hard to act the part.

I'm supposed to frighten my enemies!!!Think they might die laughing at this feeble attempt. |

Nearly ready to start |

Just so we didn't forget the word or actions. 2 big screens to look at not that it did me any good. Too intent on following those performing it on stage. |

Counting down |

And the confirmation that we didn't break the World record but a new Milton Keynes record had been set instead. |

The medal. |

It's the Haka and only males are allowed to do it! ๐
Oops, Thanks for correcting me Tom and Jan. Have amended my spelling mistake. When we were following the lady in the red dress on stage she told us that the women had to start with clenched fists whereas the men had to have open hands. We were never told only men could do it. Maybe they felt not enough men would turn up for the record so excepted us women as well.Xx
