About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Off the beaten track

The rain eventually arrived by 5pm yesterday. The annoying thing was that had we moved when planned we would already have been moored after Netherton tunnel before the rain set in. Still today was dry but a bit cold so we donned our winter woollies and set off to make our way to Netherton  and a nice mooring at Windmill End Junction on the Dudley No 2 canal. On the way we made a bit of a detour. As we still planned to do every navigable waterway in the UK, we turned left from the Birmingham level main line onto the Icknield Port loop, then crossed the BLML again to enter the Soho Loop.
