About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

The loneliest job in the world.

All is quiet on Ian's lack of fillings saga. I've heard no moaning or hand placed on cheek as if in agony, so I am assuming the lack of amalgam in the cavities are not bothering him at present.

Today was a very late start. Leaving this site for good we made sure the water tank was topped up and cassette emptied. Then before we set off, Ian went to say farewell to the owner. A long 40 minutes later he returned, and he reckons us women can talk for England! Anyway, after first calling in at Morrisons for a shop and then to top up with diesel, we did the very short journey to the Yorkshire Air Museum.

A good three hours spent enjoying the exhibits but unfortunately, like a lot of places, certain things could not be viewed so a return in the future will be on the cards.

Found a great park4night spot in a lay-by on a very quiet lane. Pheasants have been heard calling and Deer have been seen by one of the locals recently running across the open fields so I'm living in hope for a few photos. Oh and finally the sun has come out!

And wildlife this morning,
