About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Don't the balloons look great when they are so close? We had one come across the house one day and actually touch the garage roof!

Nice to see that Judy and Jade have made the bloggers 'dogroll' on Dogs On Tour.

Thanks for your comment. It's hard work fitting out a boat. We bought ours from new and already finished. Taking her out for the first time made us realise the internal layout did'nt work for us so Ian completely changed everything except the galley. The dogs were the most difficult to accomadate as they always seem to take twice as much space as needed. In the end we took the dinette table away completely (including our only spare bed) and placed their baskets there instead.
Hope Caxton will be cruising soon and that we might meet up someday on our travels.
By the way, how do we see the 'dogroll'? I didn't realise there was such a thing.
