So it's Ian birthday today and as a treat I got him to stay in bed whilst I got up to make the tea...twice! He was also fed a full English Breakfast (not in bed) and so he didn't have to lift a finger, I even managed to cut the bread! It might have been a tad lop sided but it went into the toaster without having to be forced in! Oh, and I washed up, made the bed, gave him another lemon tea, brought out his slippers and even offered to pay for our lunchtime meal! Now that's what I call being a good wife!
Our son is due to meet us later to take us to that fancy new place in MK. We had originally thought it to be for a meal but slight change of plan as Oscar (oldest grandchild) is having extra tuition to get him through next year's exams and won't be back before 8 pm. So now we are going just for drinks. That's one of the reasons for going out this lunchtime, hardly any food left on board due to us going away for 3 or 4 days. Although MK has been his home since 2008, Campbell Park was not somewhere he regularly goes and had completely forgotten where it was. I wanted to send a Google Map photo but for some reason couldn't get to copy the photo. So Ian mentioned a Snip and Sketch tool. Trial and error and I got it to work. This was the result.
Like this tool a lot. It was very easy to use and I may even use it more often!
The nearest eatery to us was the one by Campbell Marina. Strange name for it, Warbler on the Wharf, It's also huge! I expect at the height of summer the place would be heaving. It took us under 10 minutes to walk from our mooring, we never booked a table fully expecting the place to be quiet. And it was when we first arrived but by 1 pm hardly a spare table to be had! Wow, this place was popular. So we ordered drinks, Non alcohol beer for me and a cider for Ian and then looked at the menu. Hmm...not the usual offering one expects in a pub although a few one does expect like pie, burger and steak.
Anyway nearly everything on the mains menu was over £14 and for those prices expected a substantial meal but what we got was a typical large plate, small portion offering. Now don't get me wrong, what there was of it was really tasty, just a little disappointing about the amount payable for the size.

Still it got us out of FS, and luckily on the walk back it stayed dry. It poured first thing and overnight the rain was torrential. More is forecast for this evening and us going out too! Oh, goody, the walk from the car park to the boat is a good 7 or 8 minutes, unfortunately that will be the closest Colin can get us to FS. I think we may well be in for a soaking later!

Ian doesn't look weird in your photo. More shocked at the attention he received first thing that morning. Try doing it every morning and I'm sure he will be back to his normal self :-)
