Jelly fish and purses.

 Another glorious start to the day, it called for breakfast to be eaten alfresco.

 So what to do today? It was the coast that beckoned to us all and after a lazy morning, set off towards Aberdovey a bit before midday. What is it about Sat Navs? We were at a loss as to why she wanted us to head in a different direction to where we we thought we aught to go. She took us to the new Pont-ar-Ddyfi bridge, under construction because the existing road was not designed to carry the current volume of traffic. I found out afterwards that the road was often closed due to frequent flooding, causing traffic to take a diversion of up to 30 miles.  Anyway, the trusty road map was consulted and within 20 minutes we had arrived at our destination.

Aberdyfi, so very popular with its quaint streets and small shops, we were pleasantly surprised to see the main car park catered for motorhomes as well as cars. For a fee of £2.20 for 4 hours, it was excellent value. What wasn't good value was those bl**dy gulls dropping their sh*t everywhere!   I did wonder if, on our return from the walk along the beach, our vehicles would be targeted. Thankfully not, but it must be a constant source of irritation to the locals!

I haven't yet mentioned the newest member of the Jameison family. Alan and Angela's lovely Lhasa Apso puppy, Sophie. Only 12 weeks old and never had her paws on sand or in seawater, it would be interesting to see what she made of it all. Well, she took to it like a duck to water, running herself ragged, leaping on anything that moved in the wind and her favourite game, to pounce on seaweed and paddle in the small pools left by the retreating tide.

This was a lovely place to visit, the sand stretched for what seemed like miles as the tide went out. We walked a good distance until hunger made us turn around and go find a pub for lunch. We found the Dovey Inn, excellent service and the lunch menu was very reasonably priced.

Along the high tide mark, jelly fish had been stranded. Hmm, although a lovely safe beach, ideal for young children, I'm not sure if I would have wanted to go swimming amongst this lot!

And in one of those shallow pools was this mermaids purse.

Back at the camp site and for the first time this holiday the BBQ was fired up. Alan's gas BBQ did the job nicely, although we did have several sittings because not all the meat would fit on in one go.
