About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Who would have thought......

Well what a turn up for the books! Ian and I won the 'guess what was in the bag' competition. 20 bags with very obscure objects inside. Ian got 1st place and I came third (I did copy two of his answers but the rest was done all on my own). Then we also won the bubbly in the raffle. Then today Jade got a second and a third in the Scruffs fun dog show. Not only that but we had a visit from Christine, Kev, Josh, Thomas and Echo (because its Fathers Day) and after persuading Christine to enter Echo, she also had a second place rosette. We had entered both dogs in the prettiest bitch class fully expecting to come away empty handed but no........ Jade got second place, beaten only by a really lovely Collie. Then in the Golden Oldies Echo took second and Jade the third place. So again this is more of a photo blog then the written word.

1st prize the teddy and third prize a shopping bag in a strawberry. Bubbly was the raffle prize. Teddy went to Thomas.

The judging

Jack Russel was third, Jade second and 1st to the Collie

Golden Oldie class. The terrier at the end won. He was nearly 16.

Best dog owner legs. Needless to say Ian didn't win although I think his legs are lovely!
