The morning didn't start to well as I very nearly spilled my tea all over the bed covers. It was all because of a speeding boat who couldn't be bothered to slow down. I mean really, we are breasted up with Mystique 111 (same length as us) and Mystique ropes are tied to our dolly's. So the boat charges past, she begins a forward momentum, a second later we go with her, she then starts on her way back while we are still traveling forward., clatter bang as our mooring pins and ropes get pulled taught and both boats tilt and crash into one another It's a wonder the piling doesn't come away from the side!. I'm sure if the owners of Mystique were on the boat they would have said something to that idiot but we couldn't get out of the boat fast enough. So Ian has had to put a spring on our boat, stretch Mystique's rope across us to the bank side bollard and tie his centre rope onto our fairleads! This has helped somewhat but I do wish people would think before speeding past. Surely they are aware of water displacement and what it does to the boats. If they don't they shouldn't be on the cut!
Rant over for now, today has been fabulous. Very hot and most enjoyable sitting outside and chatting to all and sundry. Out bunting has been erected and Ian has done his bit to help out by painting the bottom of the bridge. Me....I've just been chilling, reading my book and taking photos of the buzzard. Love this place and cant wait for the celebrations to start.

How many geese does it take to pull a narrowboat.? |

Your pics made me laugh--especially the one of the geese "pulling" the boat. It looks like you and Ian are set to enjoy the good weather.
