Armed with a load of tissues we walked to the Hippodrome yesterday afternoon to see The War Horse. It was every bit as good as everyone had talked about and yes the tissues were wet through by the time the play ended. The way the actors made those puppet horses move was phenomenal.
Being a matinee performance we were on our way back to the boat by 5pm. Then who should we meet on the way back but Roger and Pat
The Cat's Whiskers. Knowing that they were also after wood and, because truthfully we have rather more then we actually needed, they were going to help us out by taking some of the logs off our
hands roof. Then as we approached our boat I noticed another familiar boat moored near by.
Nb Tacet owned by Ian and Karen. Ive not yet had a chance to chat to them although Ian has said hello and introduced himself. Hopefully I'll see them both later.
This morning the boat in front of us left which gave Roger the perfect opportunity to bring The Cat's Whiskers to our boat. Makes offloading some of our wood into his well deck much easier. We first had tea and cake. The same cake I baked a few days ago with
Jo's recipe. Ian said it was yummy and nearly as good as Jo's so I thought I would try it out on Pat and Roger. It seemed to go down well so they were either being very polite or they did actually like it. Then it was off to view the new library and go for lunch at Weatherspoons.

This one looks to be okay |

Hmmmm...... now where shall I stack it? |
Just as we were about to set off we had a knock on the boat and our friend Alan was stood outside. You may remember the
honeymoon couple we boated with back in June. With Alan staying in Birmingham and knowing we were in the vicinity he came to say hello. So with us just about to depart with Pat and Roger to Weatherspoons, we invited Alan to join us. Now Roger and Alan have never met but you wouldn't have believed it the way they got on together. They discovered that both liked motorbikes and both played the ukulele and spent most of the time extolling the virtues of both!

No Roger is not a fisherman showing how big his catch was, but explaining to Alan something to do with motorbikes. |
After a lovely lunch Alan said his goodbyes while the rest of us went to look at the new library.
