About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Oooh Ian! Thats a big one :)

Too right it is. I didn't know they made them that big. What am I talking about? A huge 1 mtr long drill bit!!!!
So that the cables are not visible when the lights in the wall are installed, a hole had to be made through the pillars and down to the ground. That's where the long drill bit came in. Ian has had to abandon the tiling on the on suite to get all the cables in for the exterior lights.A small digger is arriving on Friday and the cables and junction boxes are to be mounted behind the wall. All the soil that was excavated when the build was going on, will then be pushed against the new wall to bring the garden levels up. Ian is to man the digger on Friday. I really hope he doesn't accidentally knock the walls down again.!!!

My contribution today was to paint doors ( again )

and finish the last of the skirting. This section was to long to be painted inside so the garage was used instead.
