About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Canal Roundabout???.

Im not sure why this has been stuck in the centre of the canal. Maybe there is some sort of obstruction right in the middle. Its a good conversation peice though! As its by Stoke boat club moorings, maybe someone from the club could tell me why its there.

Used to be a swing narrowguage railway bridge there which pivoted in the middle. If you look to the right from where the picture was taken you can still see remains of tracks.

Thanks Alf. I would never have even thought of that. Nice to know people are out there that can answer our questions.
