This is a lovely area. Views to die for! TV reception impossible!! Goodness knows what will happen when they go digital. Analog wasn't to bad. In the end, though, we put our satellite up and even then the signal kept breaking up. We have decided to go up the Leek branch instead of carrying on down the Caldon. There has been notification on Waterscape of an unstable chimney near Froghall and in consequence both the canal and towpath is closed. We are hoping that by delaying our trip to the end of the Caldon the stoppage may have come off. Will probably give BW a ring later in the week to see whats what.
About Us
- Ian and Irene Jameison
- In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.
