About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

The three ships dogs

Heather is holding their Yorkshire Terrier, Oliver. Ive not mentioned Olly in this blog but he has been with us ever since Dave and Heather arrived back in June. At eighteen he is doing remarkable well although he cant walk very far and is blind and deaf. He does however have a howl on him that could wake the dead.

Posing for the camera.

Hello Lesley and Joe,
Unfortunatly Olly has no teeth therefore my two bully him somewhat.I am told that in his hayday he was a "rotweiller" in disquise and hated the postman!!!
