About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Irene your photos are wonderful and I'm very envious. I can't get mine anywhere near the quality of yours. I'd love to know what sort of equipment you possess.

All the best to you both and happy cruising.

Hello Peter,
I'm really flattered by your comment. It's always nice to know that people are looking at the blog and enjoying the photos.
To answer your question most of my 'And finally' photos were taken with a bridge camera Pansonic Lumix FZ48. I very seldom use a tripod but this camera has a built in stabiliser to stop camera shake. For my close up of bugs and flowers I use a macro584 medical close up lens 4X. Just recently I have purchased a Canon 600d with a 70-300mm focal range. I'm still getting to grips with this SLR but so far I find it very easy to use. I used to have the camera setting on sport mode but have progressed to Aperture priority setting my own shutter speed, ISO and depth of field (f number ) Hope this has helped. I look forward to our paths crossing and doing the 'meet and greet. Once again thank you for your kind words. I have added you to my blog list.
