About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Slimbridge wetland center

The most amazing day was spent at Slimbridge. The weather was kind to us, although a tad cold first thing, but it wasn't long before the jumpers came off and sunglasses worn. We paid for a land-rover safari along the estuary and wet lands, £5 each and a two hour trip, well worth the money. We even got to see a Hobby! I took 1092 photos!!!!! Maybe just a tad to many to put on here. Now I just need to sort them all and put the best on my Wildlife blog. (over several weeks no doubt). Just a few for today and, as I'm visiting the center again tomorrow, will put some more on tomorrows blog.
