Ella's head peeking out |
I wanted to write about this first while it was still fresh in my mind but I really have got ahead of myself. So lets start from the beginning.
With the election on our minds we got up early to see the result. Conservatives at that time (7am) were well in front and an outright win was predicted. Not bothering with the rest of the results we pulled pins to head out to Upton. Luckily another early riser joined us at the two Worcester locks going down to the river. They turned right heading upstream and we went downstream to the river lock.
Leaving Worc and Birmingham canal |
Diglis Lock |
Big old locks these. |
Not a big fan of rivers. Bit boring with very little to see. |
Although I did see this Manderine pair |
And a hen Pheasant. |
And also a lot of bottoms! |
The boater with that dog is the one in the distance (front boat) on left. It left about an hour ago and good riddance! |

So glad Ella was found safe. Houdini our cat (sadly no longer with us) slipped off the gunnel on the River Aire last year when we were moored. Thankfully she was so noisy in the water we heard her and could fish her out. She of course blamed it on the birds dive bombing her! Well done all who went to the rescue.
Love your photos but I think you'll find that the picture of a Grouse is actually a hen Pheasant :-)
Hello Anonymous, I stand corrected and have changed the caption. Thanks
