No way.... There was not a cat in hells chance that we would move today! Talk about windy!!! And the rain last night!!!! Due to leave with us were Paul and Liz Cooksey (
Master brewer of the famous Ma-Pardoe's Swan Inn in Netherton Dudley) but after a bit of a discussion Paul and Liz decided to not risk the river (never having done any rivers before) and go back via the narrow locks of the Droitwich canal. This left us to debate what was best for us. I'm not a big fan of rivers, okay with the ones I know, and those unknown to me I have a deep respect for. Weather forecast was for increasing winds this afternoon, gusting 50 to 60mph and, with the rain of last night, I worried about rising river levels. Tomorrows forecast is for yet more rain so we may end up staying a day or two longer then anticipated.
Even with the high winds this morning the canoeing kids were out in force again. Loving every minute and, with no fear of capsizing, paddling away for all their worth. Ian had to tighten our lines again as once more we were moving from side to side but thankfully this time with a longer pontoon this was done with little effort.
Today is also our 42nd Anniversary. Not that we remembered mind you! It was only when I was making lunch and pulled out a packet of ham that I suddenly remembered. It was looking at the 'use by date' that did it. So celebration tonight will be a glass of Pimms and Pierogi (Polish dumbling) with salad. Last of the big celebrators that's us!

Happy Anniversary to you both, Irene! Thank you for stopping to say hello to Chris and I on Sunday. We enjoyed our day so much we came back again on Monday so our collie could have a try at the agility course. Sadly the camera was in my pocket, so no photos were taken! I have just caught up with all your posts from the festival and now realise how much we missed. I really think we must book our boat in for the festival next year. A wise decision not to move today - if you do decide to come north make sure you can get under the M5 culvert. It is very low and can be tight if the water is high. Hopefully we will meet up again one day. Jennie, from nb Tentatrice.
Thank you Jennie for your anniversary wishes. Just loved this festival and would do it again if we could but plans for next year is to go to Liverpool. Still things change on a week to week basis so you never know.
We did get under the culvert a couple of years ago and took the top boxes off. We scraped through with inches to spare that's why we came the river way this time. Hope to meet you both again some day. Paths cross when one least expects it to. Xxxx
Happy anniversary
Norwyn
Thank you Norwyn. Xxx
