Still concerned about Jade

She really isn't right. Doesn't want to jump off the boat and is very nervous about getting back on. Her breathing seems quick and all she wants to do is lie down. She doesn't feel able to get comfortable and you can almost see the agony in her face as she tries to get up. I think that my holding on tightly to her scruff yesterday, and Ian pulling her up by the loose skin on her back to get her out of the water, has probably caused her more pain. This morning she had her usual dose of Metacam followed by Tremadol pain killer. The vets advice is to give her another 2 pain killers today and continue with 1 every 8 hours for the foreseeable future until she shows signs of improvement.



Today we have travelled a grand total of 150yds. We knew Doug and James had left their mooring in Lymm because they tried to sneak past at some unearthly hour this the morning, closely followed by friends on Eleventh Heaven. When I took Jade at 7am I was shocked to see the state of FS cabin side. On that mooring the towpath is also a single track roadway. With all the rain yesterday leaving massive puddles every time a car drove by, unbeknown by us, we got splashed by that horrible cream muck that C&RT have laid down for the cyclists benefit
.





So we snuck into the space left by Chance and then, so not to leave a gap, pulled back and shared Nb Midnight’s ring.

We are second in line.

The rest of the day was spent walking around Lymm, getting my hair cut, visiting the bakery and devouring a strawberry cream tart (me) custard slice (Ian), walking round dingle reservoir and enjoying a ice cream cornet with flake and raspberry sauce. Jade has bucked up a bit now that she has had her dinner so hopefully keeping the pain killers going will do the trick.
