About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Off to Eastbourne so no new posts for a while.

We had everything thrown at us yesterday. Heavy rain, thunder and lightening and hail. Thankfully we had just arrived at Deptmore lock so we tied up and took immediate cover until it passed.
As this stretch of the Staffs and Worcs is like an old friend to us, there is not much to report. We arrived at Stafford boat club around 2 ish and have a lovely mooring backing up to the grass area. Ideal for the Woofits.
.
Ian has left this morning to go and fetch our car and I don't  really expect him back until 4 ish this afternoon. Then tomorrow we drop the dogs at Cristine's and Monday to Eastbourne to see my Dad and Step mum. I can't see us being back to the boat much before Thursday because we have decided to visit Colin Iwona and Oscar( No 1 Grandson ) in Milton Keynes from Tuesday onwards, and do the grandparent thing, cooing and ahhing over our new Grandson Oliver.

I think this is a Goldfinch Actually spotted at Netherwich basin .
