April 10th,
Hmmm, what to do today? I know there are still bits and bobs I can do in FS but today was too nice a day to be stuck inside, especially to do cleaning. So a bit of head-scratching but nothing came to mind. I think we have both plateaued somewhat and are looking for jobs to do. In fact, both of us are now counting the days when we can leave the confines of the boat and basin. Shopping that was a chore in another life is now something to look forward to. I find myself shadowing Ian and asking if I can help with the things he was doing. Yep, he found something to do although it was inside not out. This morning it was rerouting the cable from the small TV in our bedroom that had run around the top of the bedroom door to the engine room since arriving at the end of the cruising season last year. The wardrobe was the ideal place for the cable to go so after I had emptied of all clothes, a hole was drilled through the back and plugged into a newly placed socket.
Jen & Jim came over late afternoon with 2 bottles of Merlot. Bless, I happened to mention that I was down to my last two bottles and could they bring a bottle when they next went shopping. Instead of one, two bottles was left on the back deck. It was obvious that they knew me so well and decided that one would not be enough!
Heard two snippets of gossip. Apparently, there is a burnt-out cruiser below the lock which has been linked to drug dealers. Loads of used needles had been found nearby and then last Friday a man was found stabbed to death in a flat not far from here. A woman had been charged.
Watched Jesus Christ Super Star on U Tube which is Streaming for free. Fabulous stage show first toured in 2012. Lyricist Tim Rice had said he hoped a free online showing of his musicals would provide people with some entertainment during the lockdown. It's part of the series The Show Must Go On. A different musical every week showing at 7pm on the day of release so looking forward to what next weeks will be.
The flowers bought by Colin and Iwona is still looking fresh. Makes a lovely display in front of the stove.
About Us
- Ian and Irene Jameison
- In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Happy Easter to you both.
Oh my word. A bit scary having that sunken boat and its contents near you and a murder as well?
We are most definitely living in scary times, where life seems so cheap to some.
We will all have immaculate boats by the end of this and all be champing at the bit to do all the thing we thought were mundane.
Glad you are both doing alright and hope that once the 14 days are up you can be out and about a bit more.
Love and hugs Jo & Keith xxx
You need to learn to slow down and blob, woman!! You have been actively adventurously holidaying for too long and require too much in the way of entertainment, I reckon.
We watched JC Superstar last night too - excellent production from 2012.
Did you watch One Man, Two Guvnors? If it's still available, get on to it. Very very funny.
We are playing cards with friends on WhatsApp every couple of days. Perhaps you could do that with the grandkids or mates to stop you going nuts.

Happy Easter Jo and Keith, I agree, hearing that bit of news was disconcerting, to say the least.
Only 4 days left before we can leave. So looking forward to that.
Hugs and love to you both

Now Marilyn, Sitting still and chilling out is not in our nature and boredom quickly sets in if we have nothing to do. But saying that I have been watching more TV especially in the afternoon trying to catch up on all those missed episodes of Casualty, Holby and Mrs Browns Boys.
One Man, Two Guvnors has been on here but I think we have missed the deadline. I did notice that Treasure Island was showing mid-April and that interests us both.
Happy Easter to you both
Sending much love and hugs and keep safe
