Yipee, the countdown has begun, only 4 more days to go. Getting excited although it could still go horribly wrong as we are not out of the woods yet!
Last night an email was received from Jan. She is the Australian canal societies President and sent some light-hearted relief in the shape of a drawing.

Another beautiful warm day and I happened to mention I would like to paint the back deck counter. That spurred Ian into action having wondered what to do but he insisted that a proper job was done and proceeded to peel away the anti-slip deck coverings before painting. This led to more work as rust was found under the mats. A rub down and Fertan rust convertor was applied first but it did mean the painting would have to wait and it also meant those mats would need a blooming good clean.
And who offered to continue being the scrubber? As I had tackled the rug and headboard yesterday, it stood to reason that I would carry on the theme by doing the same today. A lot of elbow grease later and finally got the mats cleaned.
The bottom mat just needed rinsing. |
Lucky to see this Alderfly nymph emerge to develop into the adult.

Pleased to see the swan has sorted the nest and uncovered the eggs. |

Blobbing is NOT doing nothing, Irene. Reading counts as blobbing and is certainly doing something as it exercises the mind constantly, even if the body stays still apart from the occasional move to the kettle and the teapot - and the fridge ...
And reading in bed involves even more exercise as the kettle and fridge are further away!
Speaking of blobbing, I am going to get up now (10.35am) having had two cups of tea and breakfast in bed and go and do a small bit of weeding. By the way, while I was waiting for the tea-maker to do its thing this morning before 8am, I emptied the dishwasher, swept the kitchen floor, and pulled up the blinds in the lounge - so I have been a bit active...
I will now leave David in bed watching some movie or other, OK?

Gosh, Marilyn, you have had a busy morning! Don't strain yourself pulling up those blinds will you(:
Okay okay, I will start blobbing and follow your good advice. I will start by poking Ian in the ribs every morning insisting he makes me tea and toast before I get up. Then I could be active in mind by doing a puzzle and the very act of raising one's arm to pick up the pen must also be the perfect blob.(-; As for allowing Ian to stay in bed to watch a film...absolutely not! Get up man and get me more tea(:
Much love
