Gosh, we were warm last night. That stove of ours gives out a goodly amount of heat! Crazy when windows have to be opened so we could get cool again. Then this morning, after a restless night of throwing quilt off then back on again as the window was letting in a tad to much cold air, tea was welcomed even though it was only 6.45 am. Glancing out of the window I noticed the sky had this strange colour to it. Ian said he thought it lavenderish (is that a word?) but to me, it was more like a yukky pink. And before you say it must have been a red sunrise, well the cloud cover stopped that thought. Anyway, two photos untouched by any computer wizardry and the actual colour seen this morning.

Looking East and a slightly different colour. |
Rain nearly all day so apart from giving FS a thorough clean inside and Ian doing the battery checks, its been a day of watching TV. Seen two boats on the move, one a hire boat and one a plastic cruiser.
Hire boat skipper and crew very wet standing on the back deck and the cruiser with pram top up and well covered obviously not giving a dam about the weather.
How much rain is needed to bring this river up? The lock keepers mentioned how low the Thames was and even the weirs are only letting a small amount of water through. He reckons a good month of torrential rain to bring the levels back to normal. So in a way, I'm not too worried but there is a marker of sorts on the far bank that I'm keeping a close eye on. If this disappears then it's time to slacken ropes!
