Who'd of thought that by not being able to find a mooring at Dadlington because of the '9ft gap either side' brigade we'd have a day out in Stoke Golding instead. I suppose it didn't really matter where we moored but we did hope that some friends of ours could meet at the Dog and Hedgehog in Daddlington. The meals in the past at this pub/restaurant has been excellent. Still, we thought at Stoke Golding the White Horse would have done just as well. Turns out, though, that our friends couldn't make it after all. By the moorings a notice had been pinned to a tree stating that a beer and music fest was on at the recreation ground. As it was still early in the day we decided to see if we could find it. After a 3/4 mile walk and listening to where the sound was coming from, we found it. The band was playing early 80's music and the real ale was to Ian's liking, although at £3 a pint he felt it was a bit steep. Still we had a great time and with the sun shinning on us righteous made for a good afternoon.

That looks like such a good time and the boats look so pretty and cozy moored by the cow field. I wish I was there :)
Come visit and see our sailing photos of our 4th of July sail. We have finally got her restored and in the water.
I love following your blog and sharing your adventures.
Connie :)
