We had a slow amble to Cosgrove. Crossing the Iron aqueduct and noticing a very hot woofit suffering in the heat, ( she wont leave us now that Judy has gone and lies on the engine cover instead of going inside where it is cooler) made us decide to moor up and take Jade to the river. The water looked so inviting I almost wished I could join Jade swimming and splashing around. After a rejuvenated Jade but two very hot owners we made our way back to the boat for a spot of lunch. Sitting outside enjoying cold drinks and sandwiches we attracted the boaters either side of us and a very pleasant hour was spent chatting about this, that and the other( well not really the other) but the world was put to rights many times.
We are now moored above Gosgrove lock. It's a still scorching outside but we have managed to moor by the shade of a huge tree so the heat is bearable. Jade is fast asleep outside after her meal and Ian and I are already on the beer and wine. So all I can say is 'This is the life'!

You must have left Cosgrove in good time this morning -- I walked down from the marina mid-morning to see if you were there, but there was no sign. Clearly we're destined to keep missing each other!
