Monday 23rd July
Last night, at about 8 pm, cars doing doughnuts in the car park. So much noise, loads of smoke and so much fun watching them. I wonder how much they spend on tyres in a year?
Behind the lifeboat station was a tap so having showered last night this morning we topped up the tank.
Then it was off to the Argory
It was a good drive to Moy in Dungannon where there was another of the National Trust properties. A marvellous example of a period property, fully furnished with nearly all the original features including the gas lamps. Electric light was never installed in the main house even up to the present day. I hate themed NT houses and the only let down in this one was a hideous art deco electric lit up circular swirl put up in place of the gas chandelier which was being cleaned and was powered by the only electric sockets (well hidden) installed so the cleaners could use the hoover!

The gentry house of the former Mac Geough Bond family, the Argory was built in 1820. |

So then off for an excursion to Drapers Town near to Londonderry to meet our previous tenant's mother. She lived down a farm track next to a farm and sod's law said we would meet a tractor head-on. Tractor driver reversed into this lovely pristine clean driveway leaving a trail of very muddy tracks! Opps!!! Anyway, A very pleasant 3 hours spent with a typical Irish lady who could talk for Ireland. We were well fed and watered and sent on our way with homemade soda bread, delicious.
Finding an overnight stop was a bit difficult. It was late (6.30pm) and the roadside didn't appeal. In the end, a carpark in Limavady was found.

And another road hazard! |
