About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Mindless idiots.

It's started...running around like idiots trying to get the rally site spruced up as well as bringing boats up into the basin and sorting out their moorings. My Fitbit watch has clocked up over 30000 steps in two days, it's all that walking up and down the towpath and having to put up yet more 'no mooring' signs and zone markers. And to think Ian did the self-same thing yesterday but because morons think its fun to tear the signs down, remove the stakes and completely destroy the whole kit and caboodle, it all has to be done again. What on earth goes on in some peoples mind is beyond comprehension.  I'm beginning to wonder if this needs to be done every day until all the boats are in place!

Anyway here are some of the many photos taken yesterday and today.

First job for Pentland. Act as a pontoon for us to wash FS.
