About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Wildlife blog 1 & and at last some diesel

Having refused to pay Willowbridge marina's prices a couple of days ago ( 96p ltr ) we were ever so pleased to see Gary coming towards us late yesterday afternoon. His prices, at 89p, is still not the cheapest around but we always try to get fuel from the diesel boats if we can, just to keep these working boats on the canals.

Colin, No 1 son, came to see us last night and took Ian back to his house to collect our car. It's been cluttering up his driveway for over a month so I expect he will be glad to see the back of it. It's the dreaded MOT later so we are keeping fingers crossed the car gets the all clear.

Sunrise at 6.30am

And finally:-
