Harmony restored.

 Oh dear, Toffee caused a bit of a disagreement between the pair of us first thing. My fault because I got up just before 6 am to visit the bathroom. Of course this meant Toffee thought she too could get up. Anyway Ian shouted at her to go back to her basket, I came out of the bathroom and said I would take her out so hastily got dressed, grabbed the torch and placed Toffee's flashy collar over her head. Bless her she did want to go, must have been crossing her legs for a while because no sooner had she jumped off the boat than she squatted. So back on board and Ian grumpily said that dog has you wrapped around her paws. I disagreed but he wouldn't leave well alone. So I went off in a huff, slammed the bedroom door shut and sat in the lounge. Made myself a cup of tea but not Ian...served him right!

Silence is golden and that was how we remained until it was time to leave. In fact, it was another boat turning up as I was undoing ropes that actually got us talking again. Silly how a little disagreement can flair up into something bigger. Both apologised for each others behaviour and harmony was once again restored in the Jameisons household.

So this other boat had on board a lady we had seen before. She worked at Campbell Wharf Marina and December 2021 showed us where to moor when we stayed at the marina over Christmas. Heather was her name, I failed completely in getting her husband's name. Anyway we spent the time chatting away at the locks, retirement for her is next year and the pair will then become continuous cruisers.

We said our farewells at Grove lock, they to continue to the marina and us to stop at Linslade for another shop at Aldi.

 Ian was armed with the task of getting the shopping, I was still having issues with my knee. He came back with a big bar of Cadbury's dairy milk chocolate, his way of saying sorry for this morning.What a lovely old softy he is!

Not wanting to stop quite yet, after all it was only about 1 pm, we headed off toward the Soulbury Three. Rain was ever present in dribs and drabs, definitely sunshine and showers today. Took but 90 minutes and we could have gone down the flight but decided to stay above in the open with lovely rural views. One downside, the railway is very close and there is some road noise, not helped by the wind blowing the sound in our direction.

With storm Ciaran due to arrive on Wed/Thu, tomorrow we will make for the Plough at Simpson and stay until Toffee is collected on Saturday.
