Nb Tumbleweed said we must go to the National Museum in Tring. As we are still at the end of the Wendover Arm, Ian found this to be near enough to Tring to walk to the museum, about 1.5 miles away. Only open from 2 pm on a Sunday, we spent the morning giving FS a good clean inside and out. The weather was glorious and soon had us changing from long trousers to shorts. By 1 pm we set off along the lane to the village of Tring. Of course, we were much too early as the walk only took about 30 minutes but a convenient bench seat in the grounds was just the place for us to wait. 2 pm on the dot and the doors opened. Wow, the place was full of
Walter Rothschild collection, with birds, fishes, insects, mammals etc. Marvellous place and yes, Steve and Angela, I did see the fleas in their outfits. Too small to take a photo and I marvel that someone could make clothes as small as that.

Lovely mooring and all alone. This taken at 6 pm. |
It only took 90 minutes to walk around the place so not as long as we thought. Gave me a good opportunity to get some fishing in on our return (huge carp down this end but didn't catch any!) and Ian got out the black paint to touch up those scrapes I managed to put down the side of the gunwale.
And seen while I was fishing,

I never knew Swallows hissed but this one did just that at this fledgeling White Throat |
