Gosh, that hirer on Box of Delights came past us last night at a snail's pace. He either recognised our boat and decided a load more abusive from this mad women wasn't a good idea or has seen the error of his ways! Whichever one, I'm glad to see it.
So this morning we left this lovely quiet mooring for a very noisy one. Moved all of one mile to where the river runs parallel to the M25. But it was the only convenient spot to stop and catch the number 436 bus to Brooklands museum.
This museum is on the site of the world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit with many a collection of cars, motorcycles and bicycles from the heyday of the track until it closed in 1939. Thinking this would be more of interest to Ian, I surprised myself by thoroughly enjoying the day. A 4D Theatre experience with us in the cockpit of one of the Red Arrows doing their famous flying display was thrilling. For those with motion sickness, this is not for you. I must say the highlight for me was Concorde. One magnificent plane that I would so loved to have flown on but would never have happened unless we had won the lottery. To purchase a return ticket on one of its last flights in 2003, would have set you back well over £8,000 each!
Plenty more to see which took us all day, but for me, the motor side wasn't that interesting other than the old London Buses. Took special interest in the number 38A bus because this was the one I took to my school every day from hometown of Woodford.

Wow, what an interesting day out.
We took our MG down for a show there and drove it slowly on part of the old race track.
Amazing to see the old planes seemingly made of wood, paper and bits of wire!
They seem to have acquired much more since our visit, so we must go again I think.
