After getting to Debdale Marina and filling up with diesel, we winded and headed back toward Newton Harcourt again. We needed to go back to Kilby Bridge to move our car back to Sandiacre and also to look after our grandson Joshua while Christine went to work for a few hours. Again we set of in almost perfect conditions weather wise. We had just locked down 4 flights and only had one to go when the snow came again. As there was nowhere to moor we had to keep going. Well to say I was steering blind is an understatement. More by luck then judgement did I manage to keep the boat in the middle of the cut rather then on the bank!!! We did find moorings eventually, but not until we were back to where we had set of this morning. Every part of me and Ian was wet through. So thankful the boat was warm inside.
About Us
- Ian and Irene Jameison
- In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.
