- In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough.From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Hi Irene and Ian,
I remember when David arrived in London, on 14 Feb 2004 to join me on our big OE - I took him down to St James'Park and the daffodils were out then - lovely!

I was amazed that the Daffs were out before the Snowdrops. The buds were present in late January! They do look lovely as you rightly say and a very welcome sight knowing Spring is just around the corner. Xxx
