About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

The falls circuit

Wednesday 1st March/ Thursday 2nd

I have been one very ill lady, High-temperature, shivers, felt so very cold and being sick. Two nights of feeling like death warmed up. All yesterday and today I have suffered, a tight chest and a dry cough. I even had to forgo the trip to Herberton historic village. Ian went alone and I just slept until he came back. Still not right but was determined to do the waterfall trail today. Up and down those hills about did me in. And today it has rained almost non-stop. On the last waterfall we got to the bottom and then read the sign. Oh 'eck...Seems crocs use this waterhole. Ill or not I wasn't hanging around and got up those steps pretty darned quick. Then on the way to Tully, we found a cheap campsite with power. Realise now why it was cheap. Crocodiles inhabit this site as well. Somehow I think we will be using the loo in the campervan tonight!

The Crater. Made a slight detour to have a look before heading for Dinner Falls

Dinner falls

Millaa Millaa Falls also a swimming hole.
Zillie Falls

Ellinjaa Falls

Mungalli Falls Upper Rapids

So wet even the path had a river running along it.
