Divine intervention perhaps?

Townsville, our first stop this morning. Didn't see much to inspire staying and exploring the town but we did stop at the information centre just in case. Yes there were numerous art galleries if that was what one liked, yes there was an indoor reef aquarium on the scale of Seaworld but none of those appealed. The Great Barrier reef needs to be viewed either snorkelling or diving and that is exactly what we had planned for Sunday, a boat trip from Airlie Beach. One suggestion made was to drive to Castle Hill Lookout. "You will be amazed at the size of Townsville," said the lady on the desk. We took her advice and sure enough, she was not wrong.

 We had a long drive ahead to get to Proserpine so after 30 minutes we headed South. We took the Bruce Highway, a boring drive with long straight bits and very little to see other than miles upon miles of Sugar Cane. Cruise control on the camper was a blessing although Ian was the one doing most of the driving. I still wasn't right, that dry cough and lack of appetite was starting to make me a bit light headed. Not really a good idea then, to take the wheel. We made it in a tad over 3.5 hours. Stopped at a paid site so I could do some badly needed washing. This site also had a pool and we soon made use of that. Tomorrow and a very early start out to the reef. The boat leaves at 8 am, we are to be there by 7.30 am  Bit worried about this cough of mine. Probably not a good combination, coughing and wheezing whilst swimming with one's face underwater. Hopefully, a dramatic improvement will occur.
