First I must say thank you to Bruce on Nb
Sanity Again for correcting a grammatical error on my
last post heading. I expected the heading to get noticed but not quite for that reason.( Note to myself. Must try harder!!!) So for this heading I have made sure the grammar is correct
I also got the breed wrong. The owners informed me that these are
Birman cats.
Not a great day for traveling as the rain started early and continued on and off throughout the day, so as I had seen on the local news here in Birmingham that various wicker sculptures had been placed in the city center of past Olympians, we set off to find them. After several wrong turns we eventually found a mini covered in flowers with a map on the railing of where they were situated. We managed to find a few before the rain made us scurry back to the boat.. We did manage to find Usain Bolt in his classic pose.
Not long after our return we became aware of loads, and I mean loads, of lorries arriving opposite us at the NIA. What on earth was going on? Ian looked on Google and discovered that Madonna was arriving tomorrow to do a gig. We discovered that 38 lorries were needed to transport all her stage equipment and all this for just one night!

All these lorries were exactly the same. I would have hated to be on the motorway trying to pass all 38 and wondered where they were going and to whom they belonged.
Late afternoon, as I was sitting blogging, I heard a brummy voice telling a boater that he had found a duckling and didn't know what to do with it. He was reluctant to put it in the water because he thought ducklings couldn't swim!!!!!! Instead he placed it under the hedge by our boat. What an incredible stupid man as Mum with her other 4 ducklings were feet away from the bank quacking for all she was worth, yet he placed it under the hedge! For ages I could hear the mum calling and the duckling answering but the baby made no attempt to return to mum. In the end I decided to take matters in hand and after getting down on my knees scrabbling around in the under growth I managed to find it. Thankfully mum was still only across the canal and with some bread to entice her over, released the duckling back into the fold.

The evening has turned out glorious. Ian is chilling out with a beer and I'm getting ready to watch Andrew Lloyd Webber's Superstar. Tomorrow we set of for our own BCN explorer cruise.
