It was a good day...on second thoughts... it was a spectacular day.

And here was I thinking we had missed the Southern migration. In fact, those Humpback whales turned up in Jervis Bay Marine Park in their numbers. At least 8 were seen by us but a lot more sightings by other boats. We followed a mum and calf and was rewarded by a tail fluke from mum and in the distance another was showing off by breaching.

All set to see the whales

In the distance, a controlled burn was happening. But the breeze picked up and then, from the captain an announcement, burn had got out of control and was now a full-blown bushfire.

Controlled

Starting to get out of hand

The black dot in the centre was a helicopter

And seen from the harbour
Back at the campsite and we took a walk to the freshwater lake.

My first paddle
Then back at the caravan park, I decided to try the new snorkel we had bought in the UK. Worked a treat.

Just get in Ian...it's not that cold.

Typical tourist.
We leave for Edan tomorrow. More adventures to come.
