Thankfully Ian's blood count has returned to normal, so yesterday, after a long 4 hour wait at the hospital, he was able to have his treatment. I'm convinced they had forgotten him because we were the only two people left in the waiting room. By now it was about 6.30pm and in desperation Ian wandered up the corridor to see what was happening. He saw loads of empty chairs in the treatment rooms and when suddenly a nurse noticed him by the door, she said ' Are you still waiting?'
Glad to hear that Ian was OK for the treatment to continue :)
ReplyDeleteWhat is the matter with the clinic though... such an awfully long wait :(
Oh well at least he got seen, isn't the NHS wonderful

oh Blogger lost the [sarcastic grin] comment I typed at the end of my comment, how strange!
ReplyDeleteKevin (again)
Hi Kevin,
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately waiting seems to be the norm. One lady was waiting from 9.30am and finally got to get her treatment at 4pm!!! We have now decided to phone 30 minutes before Ian's treatment to see if he will be seen on time. I feel its bad enough to suffer with cancer without having to wait all day for the chemo!!!
Irene
Glad to hear he got the treatment, this sort of shambles is just typical of many parts of the NHS.
