Floods from storm Babet last year.

As editors of the ECP&DA magazine, yesterday photos arrived from Karen, a local resident, for us to include in the magazine. A real surprise for us because these photos showed flooding at Langley Mill. It took a moment to realise the floods were from Octobers storm Babet last year, when we were still travelling away from our home mooring on FS.

Great Northern moorings. The water was over the path.

  1. Hello, those flood pics are amazing, so did the Erewash rise higher with Storm Babet than any of the more recent storms I wonder?
Hope that things have returned to normal for you bothe, now that everything has been sorted out so you can now relax.

  2. Hi Ann, although the other storms swelled the river Erewash, it was nothing compared to what happened with Babet. For Langley Mill to flood was a unique occurrence, although when we first came to Langley Mill in 2008, I do remember the river topping the bridge and causing Lidl to flood. Xxx
