The long and narrow road

Ooh, it was ever so nice to wake to the sound of waves and then to see the baby rabbits playing when I opened the curtains.  Dry at first the rain came a short while later scattering them in all directions. Obviously not ready for bathtime yet!

Apparently, we have been travelling along the NC 500 since joining it at Inverness. The route starts from Inverness castle and ends in the same place doing a complete loop. Today we came off the 500 just before Melvich and took a detour of 70 plus miles to drive through the Sutherland Highlands. Nearly the whole way was travelled along single track roads with passing places. Great fun especially when we had a road holdup. A standoff with the sheep! We found the most idyllic place to stop for the night at Loch Graggie and Loch Loyal Lookout point.

But look at how Ian left the Beast after parking! How were we going to get in through the door???

Tomorrow we rejoin the NC 500 to continue along the coast road.

And seen along the way
