My bitch of the day!
Every single boater whether it be newbies or old timers has been told at some time or another that to pass a moored boat on a canal one should do know more then 2 mph. So why is it that some private boat owners think it is there god given right to pass at whatever speed they like!!! We have always complained about the hire boaters charging past but not so anymore as more and more boat owners are flaunting this basic waterway etiquette. We know that on engine tick over we do 2mph. I suggest that every boat owner does the same! 8 boats have come past us today and only one slowed down, a hire boat, enough not to tip the boat alarmingly. Please please slow down. After all we are all on the water to enjoy a slower pace of life. If you want to hurry, go back to a car!!!
Well said that woman!! :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed 'I' - how about a name and shame tab on all our blogs, or even better bung photos of these offenders on Facebook. We've got a trolling valve so can get as slow as about 0.5 mph on a wind free day but usually pass at a little less than 2mph :-)
