About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Well it is a pleasent place to stay

Seems we are to stay put for a few more days. The wound had oozed even more over night so another trip to the medical centre to show the nurse (a different one) who was also very reluctant to prescribe antibiotics. A circle was drawn around the red area and Ian's temperature was taken. We have been sent away with another dressing and instructions to return immediately if the redness exceeds the circle drawn but if it stays the same to return on Tuesday for another look. This will mean we will have overstayed our mooring but so far have not seen a mooring warden. We will have to explain the situation if we do get challenged.

With not a lot to do we winded the boat and took the same mooring space. I then went fishing leaving Ian to play on the computer.

We have new neighbours and they couldn't be more welcome. It's the Ice Cream boat so looks as if we may just have to sample their many flavoured ice cream tubs.

And seen on a walk which would freak out all Dr Who fans (including me who could never now have a statue in my garden).

I would suggest you give CRT a ring and tell them of your problem, better to tell them up front rather than try to sort it afterwards
